This site is produced for parents of trans kids by Margeaux, a parent of a transgender teen. We're called "ApPARENTly TRANS" for two reasons:
1. This site is mostly for parents; and
2. When we learn our children are trans, we don't have a measurable test result. At first, it's merely "apparent" to us that our children are trans.
We need to move forward based on what feels like shades of gray. it's an unsettling time for us -- but a positive, necessary step for our kids, who have finally mustered the courage to tell us who they really are.
Here, you'll find blogs written by both parents and trans individuals, and there are links to nonprofits, books, and other resources. We hope this information will help your family during your child's transition.
Whether you're a parent or a trans individual, please leave comments (which can be anonymous) about our blog posts or complete our contact form. This is a safe space. The blogs are moderated and we don't publish hateful comments. Thanks for visiting. We're glad you found us.
